Pedagogue and Professor Emeritus of Composition
Jaan Rääts started teaching at the Tallinn State Conservatory, today's Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in 1968. Jaan Rääts has been a composition lecturer for over thirty years. In 1990, Jaan Rääts became a professor of composition, in 2003 a professor emeritus, but composition classes continued until 2007. In addition to composition, he has taught orchestration and knowledge of the score, and introduced students to music from his rich record collection in listening seminars. (EMIK, 2008)
